Not familiar with what is involved in a quilt? No problem. Here’s a more detailed description.
Looking for a homemade quilt? Look no further. I sew all of my quilts from start to finish.
Have a specific quilt design or colour scheme in mind? Let’s work together to choose the fabrics and patterns and start from square one and piece together your vision.
Once you have a completed quilt top, next comes quilting. We’ll decide what batting (the fluffy insides) will best work for your quilt and choose a backing (the bottom part) to compliment. After that, it’s time to quilt (sewing all the layers together).
I have a Janome Horizon Memory Craft 9450 QCP Professional sewing machine in which I quilt on. This means that I move the quilt to create your quilting design of your choosing. This gives the quilt a more homemade look, instead of a factory produced product.
If you’d prefer a more rustic and traditional style, I can also tie your quilt. This technique uses stitches of yarn throughout the quilt to help the layers stay together.
Once a quilt is all put together, the final step is to bind the edges. A piece of fabric is sewn all around the outside to create a finished edge.
